Our journey begins… Traveling has always been something we enjoyed doing but not necessarily a main focus. We used to live in the upper Midwest so it was easy to get places from our home there. We have been to 38 states and Canada and a large portion of those travels have been by car.

Before we had children we were able to jet off to places like Hawaii and Florida but we soon determined that traveling by car was more economical (for us) and allowed us to enjoy the journey. Trips to Nebraska, Colorado, and Massachusetts were common destinations as we visited family in those states.

With children came the need to spend less money on the mode of travel and more on the experience itself. Driving half way across the country for family events allowed us to experience the majesty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the buttes of Utah, the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, and the wonder of the Pacific ocean. It wasn’t always champagne and roses and not every trip turned out the way we had planned. If it had, we would never had seen some of the really cool places (like a buffalo preserve in Eastern Indiana) that will live in our memories for a lifetime.

All this to say, that our traveling adventures started over 30 years ago and are still going strong today. Sometimes with fewer participants, sometimes with more, but always with love and a sense of adventure and wonderment at what a new place can bring into our lives.
